The month of March is designated National Craft Month. For those who enjoy crafting, keeping all of those supplies organized and stored can be a challenge. Of course there are a number of products on the market to help you, but before you go out and scoop them all up, this month take a good look at and assess your crafting objectives overall.
Do you have lots of unfinished projects cluttering your home? If you haven’t picked up the project in months or even years, ask yourself why. If a project is too time-consuming, too complicated, or just not interesting enough, we put it aside for “later”. Be realistic!! Commit only to those crafts for which you truly have a passion and let the rest go!
Next determine the condition of your supplies. If they’ve been recklessly stored, now is the time to purchase some of those craft storage containers and fill them with quality products. Keep all of your supplies stored together and if that requires you buy craft-specific items, so be it. That extra pair of scissors or bottle of glue kept where you need it when you need it will make your crafting experience that much more enjoyable.
You also need to decide where your supplies should best be stored and the amount of space your crafting supplies require. Again, store all supplies together! The easier it is to access those supplies, the more likely you will work on your projects. Baskets, clear plastic bins, and tackle boxes all make great storage containers.
Finally, designate YOUR supplies as YOUR supplies, stored away from the general crafts, thus avoiding their misuse and disappearance!
